Biography

Muzammil Ahmed Khan is a PhD researcher in the joint doctoral program between RMIT University, Australia, and BITS Pilani, India. His research focuses on bioinspired architected materials, additive manufacturing, polymeric and multimaterial lattices, and their mechanical response under compression, impact, and fatigue loading. His current work investigates structural concepts inspired by deep-sea glass sponges, with particular emphasis on energy absorption, auxetic deformation, stiffness, and controlled failure. His research integrates experimental characterization, advanced additive manufacturing, and numerical simulation to develop lightweight structures for protective, transportation, aerospace, and structural engineering applications
